First time on a Mac: it will say it "cannot verify" Vaporly. That is expected, not a virus.

Vaporly is free software and is not registered with Apple's paid developer program. The one-time fix:

  1. Double-click Vaporly in Applications, then click Done when the warning appears.
  2. Open System Settings, then Privacy and Security.
  3. Scroll down and click Open Anyway. Confirm, and you are in.

On Windows, click More info, then Run anyway if SmartScreen appears. Also one time only.

Up and Running in Four Steps

Download and Install

Grab the installer above and open it. On a Mac, drag Vaporly into Applications.

Open It Once

Use the "Open Anyway" steps in the box above if your computer shows a warning.

Allow Permissions

Microphone so it hears you, Accessibility so it types for you, Input Monitoring so the key works anywhere.

Hold Fn and Talk

Click into any text box, hold the Fn key, speak, and let go. Clean text appears.

What It Can Do

Talk Instead of Type

Hold a key, speak, release: polished text lands wherever your cursor is, appearing live as you go. Double-tap to keep talking hands-free.

Whisper Mode

Dictate quietly and Vaporly still hears you, while louder sounds around you are ignored. Calibrate it to your mic and room.

Cleans Up Your Speech

Removes "um" and "uh", and fixes mid-sentence changes of mind, like "at eight, no wait, nine".

Knows Your Words

Teach it names and jargon; say a trigger phrase to paste whole templates.

Fits the App

An email is laid out with a greeting, body, and sign-off. Long messages break into clean paragraphs, and code stays literal.

History and Learning

Every dictation saved locally, searchable and editable, with audio playback. It can learn from your fixes.

Works on 4 GB of RAM with instant rule-based cleanup; 6 GB and up adds a small on-device AI cleanup model; 14 GB and up uses the best one. About 1 GB of disk to start.
